Family Program: Printmaking Play with Gelli Plates
This all-ages workshop will introduce children and families to the fundamentals of printmaking through Gelli plate monoprinting. Participants will explore accessible printing using botanicals, found materials, and everyday objects to create unique one-of-a-kind prints. The workshop encourages experimentation and creative play while providing an accessible introduction to the printmaking process for all ages.
Saturday October 3rd, 3 – 6 pm
Handmade Stationery Block Printing
In this workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of relief printmaking by carving their own lino printing block and creating a personalized stationery set. Participants will design, carve, and print their own imagery onto cards and envelopes. A selection of pre-carved blocks will also be available, allowing participants to combine personal designs with existing imagery and explore the possibilities of shared printmaking tools.
Saturday October 10th, 3 – 6 pm
Monoprinting with Gelli Plates
This workshop will introduce adults to the possibilities of monoprinting with Gelli plates. Participants will explore techniques including layering transparent colors, creating textures, and building compositions through repetition and variation. This process-based workshop welcomes beginners and offers experienced artists an opportunity to expand their printmaking practice through experimentation and intuitive image-making with accessible gelli printing. These prints can stand alone or be used for further printing with block printing.

Recycled Plates: An Introduction to Intaglio Etching
This workshop introduces participants to intaglio printmaking through the use of recycled Tetrapak cartons as printing plates. Participants will learn how to incise designs into the plates and create small editions of prints using a small 3D tabletop etching press. This is a great introduction to printing with Tetra Pak!

Gelli Printing at JC Print Room
Discover monoprinting using Gelli plates and found materials in this one-day workshop. Experiment with layers, color, texture, and found materials to create one-of-a-kind prints without a press. Participants will experiment then leave with a collection of unique monoprint prints. This workshop is perfect for beginners and experienced artists alike. All supplies are provided, but feel free to bring flat and found materials as well as cut paper shapes and stencils to print on the Gelli plates.
