My public sculpture, City in Shapes, City in Fish, is now on view in Riverside Park as part of the Works in Public fellowship at the Art Students League of New York (@aslnyc).

The work invites viewers into my visual language through a cityscape of shape and color. Inspired by the craft and community of printmaking, it incorporates six fish contributed by fellow printmakers and artists Laurissa Widrick, Felix Bladbjerg, Kait Waldman, Stan Overstreet, Barbara Ganmen, and Scarlett Patino.

This sculpture is a love story about finding your voice and the importance of community in that process. It is dedicated to my mother, Laurene Jones (1954–2025), the artist who inspired me to become an artist and first taught me to see the world in shapes.

Want to be part of the sculpture’s community and future? The Print a Fish Project invites you to make and share your own fish print as part of this growing community artwork. Printmaking is a way of finding your voice, connecting with others, and discovering what we can make together. Learn more and find out how to participate: https://www.printafishproject.com/

Thank you to everyone who helped bring this work to life, including the Art Students League, NYC Parks, Riverside Park Conservancy, and Brandywine Valley Fabricators.
